This issue has been dealt with on lucy-dev.  

The attachments issue notwithstanding, it's nice to have Apache's
infrastructure backing us up.  Even though I was reasonably diligent about
backups, we still had the misconfig that caused the subscriber list
vaporization with the rectangular.com hard drive crash last October.  I don't
fear similar glitches at Apache.

The Lucy dev list has been the informal place to discuss KinoSearch
development for a while, since Lucy dev and KinoSearch dev are overlapping
topics.  Today, I put up a link on rectangular.com/kinosearch indicating that
it's the preferred forum. 

I think most people who follow dev issues are already subscribed, but just in
case, Lucy mailing list info is at
