Thanks for the patch, Marvin.
I've installed it, and now I get a slightly different error:

Couldn't open file '<...>/index/_1.fdx': File exists 
       at <...>/KinoSearch/Store/FSInvIndex.pm line 88
called at <...>/KinoSearch/Index/FieldsWriter.pm line 23
called at <...>/KinoSearch/Util/Class.pm line 31
called at <...>/KinoSearch/Index/SegWriter.pm line 48

I've patched the maint branch to overwrite such files.

 svn co -r 4209
http://www.rectangular.com/svn/kinosearch/branches/maint_0.1x ksmaint

Please give it a try; if it resolves the issue, I'll make an 0.164 release.
