gdb and perl debug don't provide anything useful (this not being a  
nice segv or related genus) - looks like the problem lies in the  
caller of I32Arr_get() or higher.  Short of setting a breakpoint  
(somewhere) and stepping around (probably blindly), I think it best to  
await instructions from Our Main Man.
