[KinoSearch] index handle not closed during exit

I am trying to write a search tool for my own mailbox. 
I have used plucene::simple but that works for only a limited number of
mails More mails inside and plucene indexing just hangs

This is my first script with kinosearch, I have seen that if my script
"dies" in between , the indexes are messed up 
Then I am left with no option but to remove all files and reindex

Is that the correct way of doing it ?
